FIRE DRILL – We will have a fire drill this Thursday, January 17 at 9:00 a.m. Since we have so many new students, especially in Elementary, we decided to make this an announced drill so you can prepare your students. Please make sure you practice the appropriate procedure with them, and reiterate to them that they must walk quickly, quietly and in a straight line. Please remember these drills are to be silent.
MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. ASSEMBLY – The DPTO is organizing a MLK Assembly for this Friday, January 18, for the whole school. The assembly is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. and should take all first period.  Please bring your students to the gym for this assembly. If you would like your students to participate in this Assembly, please let Cristiana or Gloria know.
SECOND QUARTER REPORT CARDS AND CONFERENCES – If you requested conferences for last Friday and did not have them, please be proactive about rescheduling them. Also, be available to any other parents who want to come in and discuss the report cards.
ABSH LANGUAGE ARTS FESTIVAL – The big event is only 4 weeks away. If you are not sure of what your responsibilities are for this event, please ask. As always, we thank you for your cooperation in making this event a success!
INTERNAL SPELLING BEE – Homeroom and Language Arts teachers should plan and schedule their grade level Spelling Bees for next week. Once you have your grade level winner and alternate, please give the names to your Area Administrator before next Friday, January 25.
MAP TESTING – The second session for the MAP testing for this school year will begin on Tuesday, January 22. A schedule for this testing session was distributed last week, and is included in this Monday Memo as well.  If you have any questions or concerns, please let your Area Administrator know.
CLOTHING DRIVE – Do you have any used clothing that you would like to donate to a worthy cause? If so, please bring any clean and folded items to the school any day this week and we will donate them to a charity. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Vincent Taylor (vtaylor@discoveryschool.edu.hn) for more information.
