INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION NEWS

As part of the festivities for the Independence Day celebration, we will have a Potluck Breakfast or Snack on Tuesday, September 13.

In the Elementary we are asking each child to bring a typical Honduran breakfast/snack food to share with 5 classmates. Teachers will let parents know what to contribute to minimize repeats of food and drinks.

In the Secondary (Middle and High School) teachers will send a notification assigning what each student
should bring to share with their grade for their breakfast.

Elementary: First and Second periods – A.M. schedule
Middle and High School – Breakfast at 8:00 am- 1st period homeroom (regular classes 2nd period)

After the last presentation, the students will be dismissed. The 10th, 11th and 12th graders will be hosting the following centers:
  1. La Cuchara y El Limón
  2. Sack Races
  3. Jump Rope
  4. Tug of War
  5. Ronda
  6. Hopscotch
  7. Enchute
Each center will last 10 minutes. In order for the centers to run smoothly we must all be on time and follow the schedule.

The groups are divided as follows:

Nursery and PreK (A and B sections)
Kindergarten (A and B sections)
1st grade (A and B sections)
2nd grade (A and B sections)
3rd grade
4th grade (A and B sections)
5th grade
We are also encouraging children (and teachers too!) to wear “Honduran” clothes
on this day. This may be a typical Honduran outfit (traje tipico), the National Soccer
Team sports outfit, any creative dress up that is representative of Honduras,
or simply blue and white.
If you have questions or doubts, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher.
